About Us

The Australian Dyspraxia Association Inc. (ADA Inc.) was incorporated in 1998. The group consists of parents and professionals who have children or have an interest in helping children with dyspraxia.

The organisation is the Peak and only representative body for Dyspraxia in Australia. The ADA is a national, self funded, not for profit and charitable organisation. It is independent of any other organisation and is governed by democratically elected individuals consisting of both parents and professionals.

Our Mission Statement

  • To promote and raise community awareness and the understanding of Dyspraxia and associated disorders and learning difficulties.
  • To inform, educate and provide ongoing support and advocacy for those who work with,     care for, or are affected by Dyspraxia.
  • To ensure those with Dyspraxia and their families are not disadvantaged by community ignorance, lack of resources or discrimination.

Our aims and objectives

  •  To act as the representative peak body for Dyspraxia within Australia

     

    ·To be a structured and independent organization

     

    ·  To provide individual support and advocacy for families and those with Dyspraxia and associated learning difficulties

     

    ·   To provide a telephone support, referral and information HELP LINE

     

    ·  To provide assistance and ongoing support for the establishment of new self-help Dyspraxia support groups within Australia

     

    ·  To advocate for equitable and accessible services that meet the needs of those with Dyspraxia and associated learning difficulties

     

    ·  To establish and maintain a national referral database.

     

    ·  To produce educational resources and training programs

     

    ·  To develop and maintain a Dyspraxia website

     

    ·  To enhance the quality of life for service users and their families

     

    ·  To initiate further research into Dyspraxia & associated learning difficulties

     

    ·  To facilitate the acceptance of people with a disability within the community.

     

    ·  To support families and carers by providing relevant services and referral to other services where appropriate.

     

    ·  To empower those with a disability and their families through education and support.
